Yes. Call restaurant to find out
This is my go to place for lunch during weekdays. Their daily lunch special is awesome and the service speed is reasonable.
Our very favorite Japanese restaurant. Wonder why I did not write a review before? My family and I have been frequenting Sushi Maru for 14 years and we go there once or twice a month. We know all the fantastic folks who work there, most of whom have been there the entire time since we started going. We also take liberal advantage of their end of year sake sale!!
Very enjoyable Japanese restaurant for sushi boat or regular dinner.
Good equality sushi at a very reasonable price.
This was a really pleasant surprise. I have tried about a half dozen of the sushi restaurants in Japan town, but this may be my new favorite. Tonight, I tried sushi Maru because most of the others were closed. I’m glad I did. I ordered a dinner bento, and the sushi was very fresh and tasty. They were edamame beans as part of the bento (a nice surprise), but probably the best part was the tempura. Besides some less common vegetables like bell pepper, it was hot and crunchy. The staff were very polite and professional. When I was done, they asked me if I was local and gave me a loyalty card for discounts.
I've been to Sushi Maru for dinner a few times and never had to wait more than a few minutes to be seated with a small party of 3 or 4. The crew is courteous and the food is excellent. Last time I had almost cancelled my Mixed Sashimi Dinner order since it took a long time to prepare. The other 2 in my party had already finished their order when mine finally arrive - but it was worth the wait. I was delicious!
Good sushi restaurant that was recommended by a colleague who now works in Japan most of the time. Fish is fresh and tasty, you have a lot of options to choose: sushi, sashimi, dinners that include soup, salad and rice. You can get a card that give you $15 discount after each $200 spent in this restaurant. Nice place, tasty food, cosy interior. A hint: if you're visiting near to closure after a lunch - it makes sense to take a seat near the sushi-conveyor, as you can get some extras 😉
Great place Japan town San Jose. Great food reasonable prices. Nice selection I reccomend trying it out if you herr on a visit... wanna move here now...Frewil
Went there on Sunday night. We waited for 5 minutes to get the table. Food is good and price is reasonable.
Sushi bar was fresh even close to closing. The soft shell crab was delicious! The staff was great and very friendly. Sushi Maru is the best place to go for great food and customer service.
Delicious fresh sushi and I love the miso soup.
Fresh, delicious Japanese food. Quick service. Often busy. Worth the wait.
From the first moment you come to this place the stuff gives you an excellent feeling. Very courteous crew, it is a good place to pass time with friends or with your date. Excellent food, professional chef, honest cost and courteous service. Warmly recommended.
The real deal. It's easy to see why there is a line for tables. The fish is fresh, the rice just right. Even better than some well known chains back in Japan.
We stopped in for lunch on Sunday right before 2:00(they close at 2:15 and reopen at 5). We both had our drinks super quickly and order taken. We ordered just one plate of sushi since the prices are slightly higher than we usually pay. We also ordered the katsu curry and tempura udon(pictured). The udon was piping hot and a large portion. The katsu curry was of medium spice but my husband who can't tolerate anything spicy was still able to clean his plate. We will return on a future visit to San Jose. The service was polite, friendly and super fast!
This is a really unique and authentic place in Japantown. The staff was really friendly, the restaurant is beautiful and the food was amazing. Highly recommend the sushi, especially the Lion King roll accompanied by plum wine :)
Finest spot to buy food when in a hurry. The service is efficient, rates are reasonable, fantastic atmosphere. I highly recommend this place
We love eating out. Last night we went to this magnificent place which friends told us about. We enjoyed a delightful evening there with high-qulity food and a professional crew and a great cuisine. We added this fine restaurant in our phone list and we will certainly come back soon. We warmly recommend.
I eat here often. The food is always good.
Really like the sushi lunch here. Great variety of fresh fish nigiri and variety of seaweed salads. Got to be able to handle a nicely seared salmon meat with bones though. Comes with appitizer of standard miso soup and salad.
Sushi boat price is not decent but meau dishes are good
Tiny but friendly with cool conveyor belt
Was excellent.....Love this place ....fish was fresh
Great taste and value. Fresh. Clean and friendly place. Both sushi bar and dinner choices.
Always a pleasure to go! The staff is really nice and the food is amazing. The sushi is always fresh and the other options are always delicious as well.
Good portion. Fresh but not necessarily the best quality.
A go to Japanese restaurant in San Jose - good food, friendly staffs, budget friendly.
This spot knows how to satisfy their clients. Consistently with a very welcoming approach. The food is reasonably priced, always yummy and neat.
Amazing food, great place our family go to this restaurant for years.
This was my first time here, and when I arrived, it's near close time at noon. So we just ordered lunch combo and udon. So far the lunch box and udon were just okay with its price. Will find time to try sushi some day to see if sushi will be better.
The place was packed on a Sunday night. The sushi was getting cranked out like mad. Good food, quick service.
Our first time here - different owner than the Sushi Maru in Milpitas. They do have revolving sushi bar and the food/variety were great! The marinated blue fin tuna and the geoduck sushi were great! The soba is house-made so definitely worth trying. Expect long wait times after 12:30 on weekends.
This is a good option for sushi since they have a pretty good turnover. They also try to introduce different types of fish that are purported imported from Japan. I'm not convinced they are. But points for making the menu interesting. I would give them 4 stars if not for the fact that service at lunch has been getting worse. Maybe its the crowd but I shouldn't have to wait 15 mins for my meal while everyone else already got theirs.
Awesome flavor! Their sushi is fresh and tastes great.
Sushi bar is good but the Sake was overpriced. This bottle was $50 and Google shopping shows it’s $25. I guess it’s about the service and ambiance your paying for. Wait, the waitress/owner was a little pushy, every time I asked for an order, she was adamant in asking “how many orders”? What? I’ll ask you for multiple orders if I want to but don’t push me. On a good end note, the fried oysters were tasty.
Lunch is pretty good at this place. Reasonable price and big portion of food!
Very good sushi and Japanese food for a very good price. Servers are friendly and attentive. The only problem was that this time they neglected to bring the complimentary green tea ice cream for my son's birthday.
Sushi is decent but a bit expensive. zaru soba is amazing.
Food is delicious. Definitely come back again.
Yes good place to eat ,delicious and chip
Tiny hole-in-the-wall place in japantown that serves quality sushi. The place is quite small and it's not ideal for big parties, but the service is quite fast. Nothing special with the fish selection as they have most of the regular stuff but I was quite impressed with the quality and freshness. Parking can be a problem during prime time so be prepared.
First time stopping by, even though I've passed the location often. There are many quality sushi locations in japantown so I hadn't risked coming here versus a trusted place like Kaita down the block. Stopped by for lunch and sat at the bar. Ordered the Oyako Don and grabbed an unagi roll from the rotating belt. The Don was very good, the portion size was good for the price and was on par with Kaita but a bit behind Gombei - still very good. The unagi roll was good, had a nice a chart and not too much sauce, but the pricing wasn't clear and it was a bit more expensive than I was expecting. Overall the experience was solid, and I'll definitely come back here again
I enjoyed the selection offered here and feel that except for the rice to other foods ratio is pretty authentic. The restaurant is nothing fantastic but the food and service were good. It has a sushi train but also a reasonable selection of other items as well. I chose the daily special which was pretty good and quite filling. The items in the special were tasty and an interesting combination. Give it a go!
Good value with high quality over price
Good location for Sushi. Dropped in on Mon I think. Had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again. Kinda of like a restaurant in Los Angeles I liked to visit.
There are very few sushi on the rotary belt (see picture). You pretty much have to order everything you want from the kitchen, and it takes forever for the food to come. We went here mostly because we want to try a rotary sushi place, so we are very disappointed. The taste is ok, not very impressive. Service is so slow. Don’t recommend this place.
Hadn't been here in probably over 5 years and it was a little worrying to be seated immediately, but the food, especially the sushi was excellent. And the service, especially the chefs at the counter was better than good, it was polite and *sincere*.
Pretty good place to take families/small groups. Generally the wait isn't too long and the food consistent.
Consistently fresh and delicious sushi. Efficient and friendly service
Decent price.... the food is good.
